The Chofetz Chaim writes that all the signs of ikvisa d’Meshicha mentioned at the end of Perek Chelek in Sanhedrin have been fulfilled: loss of respect, twisted values, spiritual fatigue, calamities, instability, and corrupt leadership. He concludes we should strengthen our bitachon and yearning for the imminent Geula.

Our proximity to Geula makes those signs clear and undeniable today.

Building on that recognition, the Rebbe declares with certainty hinei ze ba: the avoda needed to usher in the messianic era is complete, and the reality of Geula has already begun to unfold. All that’s needed now is for Hashem to take the Yidden out of Golus and bring them into the complete Eretz Yisroel.
